Robert Patrick Ndzovela

Mr Robert Patrick Ndzovela is a Medicine Registration Officer (MRO) at the South African Health
Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA)with 2 years’ experience as an MRO within the
pharmacovigilance unit. He is a pharmacist by profession, and a registered Master of Science Degree
in Pharmacy Administration and Policy Regulation student at University of Western Cape for academic
year 2024 to 2025. He has atended different pharmacovigilance courses offered internationally
including training by Uppsala Monitoring Centre.

He is an observer of the African Union Smart Safety Surveillance (AU-3S) Joint Signal Management
Group (JSM) meetings, aimed at facilitating signal management for COVID-19 vaccines in Africa to
support action in the interest of public health and safety. He is also an observer at meetings held by
the National Immunisation Safety Expert Commitee (NISEC) which is responsible for causality
assessment of all serious and severe adverse events following immunisation.

He previously worked as responsible pharmacist in several retail pharmacies, pharmaceutical
wholesale and distribution, private and public hospitals before joining SAHPRA.
