Moliehi Matlala

Associate Professor Moliehi Matlala is a South African Pharmacy Council registered pharmacist. She holds a PhD UL (Medunsa Campus) and a PGD in Health Economics. She has been in academia for over 20 years. She is the Acting Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. Her research area of interest is mainly Rational Medicines and Health Economics.

She has supervised over 40 Masters Projects and three PhDs. She has published over 20 articles in international peer-reviewed journals. She is also involved in the supervision of undergraduate research. Moliehi also worked as a hospital pharmacist part-time for 10 years, offering clinical pharmacy services in the renal unit. She has mentored many pharmacists both in academia and practice.

She is passionate about motivating and empowering young pharmacists to become the best professionals in their chosen fields. She is a member of the Clinical and Pharmacovigilance Committees at the SARPRA. She was a ministerial appointee of the outgoing SAPC council (2018-2023), where she was the chairperson of the preregistration committee.
