Chetna Narsai Govind graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal Medical School in 1991 and has been a microbiologist since 2001. She worked in the public and private sectors and is currently with Lancet Laboratories in KZN.
She is the past chairperson of the South African Society of Clinical Microbiologists (SASCM) and a member of the South African Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme. She is the past chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance (2023).
She authored many peer-reviewed journal articles and has an interest in Antimicrobial Stewardship.
