Busisiwe Mosane is a pharmacist by profession who joined the Medicine Control Council, now, the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) Vigilance unit in 2016 as a Medicine Regulatory Officer. She has experience in managed care, retail, and hospital (private and public) pharmacies. She has attended different international pharmacovigilance courses including training by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Uppsala Monitoring Center (UMC), Maintenance and Support Services Organization (MSSO) and Pharmacometrics course offered by local universities, international institutions, and Regulatory Agencies (such as SAHPRA, Food and Drug Administration Ghana and Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe). She is currently responsible for Pharmacovigilance Awareness and Risk Communication function of the unit, which involves, among others, promotion of public platform prominence for Vigilance unit and its activities.
