Averouz Maritz began his career as a Quality Assurance Manager at Comex, Namibia in 2008. He then helped to establish a pharmaceutical facility for Doré Pharmaceuticals (Pty) Ltd in 2015, where he served as Research & New Business Development Executive. In 2020, he joined Cape Bio Pharms (Pty) Ltd, a biotechnology company in Cape Town, as the Head of Operations and GxP Compliance, where he helped the company design and implement its Quality Management System and upscale from an R&D company to a Manufacturing site.
In 2021, he was employed by GIZ as the Lead Technical Advisor for ARV Regional Value Chain Promotion, where he served as an advisor to SADC. At Medical Diagnostech (Pty) Ltd, a diagnostic company based in Cape Town, he served as the Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager. Currently, he is the Medical Products Quality Officer at WHO, where he is providing technical assistance to SAHPRA with the planning and implementation of a pilot National Action Plan to combat falsified and substandard medical products.
