Teri-Lynne Fogarty has been a lecturer in the Pharmacy department at Nelson Mandela University since 2008. Teri-Lynne obtained her PhD in Pharmacy Education in 2021, assessing whether the curriculum meets the scope of practice needs for pharmacy support personnel. She was part of the team that developed the new occupational certificate for pharmacy support personnel in 2016. Her research interests are in pharmacy education, law and ethics, and the practice of pharmacy support personnel.
Teri-Lynne is an examiner for the professional exam and moderator for the pharmacist’s assistants’ external integrated summative assessments for the South Africa Pharmacy Council. In addition, she is part of the accreditation and monitoring team for the new occupational certificates for pharmacy support personnel. She serves on the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s (FIP) Advisory Committee for Pharmacy Technicians. She is leading two projects: a glossary project in pharmacy education and a competency framework for pharmacy support personnel.
