Tammy Gopal

Mrs Tammy Gopal is the Chief Regulatory Officer of SAHPRA. Tammy has 20 years of experience in the various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry, possessing skills in governance, compliance, regulatory strategy, quality assurance and GxP, pharmacovigilance, risk & stakeholder management. Tammy has held senior roles in pharmaceutical companies, having worked in local and global organisations.

She has also held a number of executive positions in professional/industry associations, providing her with broad exposure to compliance, harmonisation, regulations and policies across geographies. Tammy describes herself as intentional and passionate about contributing towards growth and improvement in regulatory science in South Africa and Africa. She currently holds 3 cum laude qualifications ie.  B.Pharmacy (UKZN), Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (GIBS), and Master of Science in Strategic Regulatory Affairs (Massachusetts, USA).

Tammy is an active proponent of policy and regulatory improvement, and her track record in various Industry Task Group meetings, Working Groups, and as an Exco member of national and international pharmaceutical associations bears testament to her passion for the industry.
