Dr Mariet Eksteen (PhD Health Professions Education) is the Professional Development Officer at the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA). In addition, Mariet is an elected member of the South African Pharmacy Council (2018-2023) and the Global Lead for Advancing Integrated Services (DG 7) in the FIP Workforce Development Hub.

Mariet has managed the FIP 2024 project since its inception in 2017. Cape Town will host the 2024 FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. It will be the first time in FIP’s 112 years of existence that sub-Saharan Africa will host the congress and only the second time on the African continent. PSSA will be the co-host of this event which will take place from 1 to 5 September 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
